Thousands of angry protesters took to the streets in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince to demand for a presidential runoff elections moments after the deadline passed to hold the vote.
This follows a postponement of the elections for the third time now making it unlikely for a new president to take office on May 14 as it had been planned.

Supporters of former president Michel Martelly and his presidential pick Jovenel Moise shouted and sang in support of their candidate with the aim of demanding a new election date.
According to opposition candidates and local observer groups, the elections cannot take place until light is shed on the first round of elections which they claim were marred with widespread ballot tampering, multiple voting and massive fraud.
Results from the first round vote put Jovenel Moise in first place and Jude Celestin in second place for a runoff.
The International community is also calling on the country to resume its interrupted electoral process.
